Ancient 古代的city unearthed 发掘in old ferry crossing

The ruins 废墟of the old Shamen City were recovered in Henan Province. An important ferry 渡口crossing on the Yellow River, with the name of Yanjin, used to be located here. However, it became deserted被遗弃的 in the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, when the Yellow River changed its course路线. Eventually最后, Shamen City and Yanjin Ferry were submerged使陷入 淹没 in the floodwaters洪水.

Shamen was also where the regional 地方的government was located. Various cultural relics 遗迹recovered in the ruins, tell people nowadays about its prime 初期 time in the past. Chinanews, Beijing, January 26 – The massive land resources survey started in 1999 has discovered 16 rich mines along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

“These mines, plus those found in Xinjiang, Yunnan and Guangdong, will be important support to the new nonferrous  (ferrous铁的) metal bases, and will ease the great demand for mineral resources, ” said Meng Xianlai, the director of China Geological地质的 Survey测量.

Now, five nonferrous metal mine lots份额 have been formed along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It is estimated判断that the copper 铜reserves储量 in the mine lot份额 许多 is some 20 million tons and that of lead and zinc锌 is 10 million tons respectively. At present, 7.98 million tons of copper reserve have been proved in a copper mine in Maizho, making it the second largest of its kind in China.
